The Uganda Athletes Federation has issued a letter of the confirmation of the withdrawal of Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo ,from the 5000 meter race in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Rumour had it that these two had withdrawn from the race,but the Athletes federation confirmed the information today.
The federation says that Cheptegei and Kiplimo were wearied by the 10000 meter race and therefore needed to have enough rest.
The federation went on and said that the health of their athletes comes first,and then winning.
The withdrawal of Cheptegei and Kiplimo means that only Oscar Chelimo will participate in the 5000 meter race.
