Besigye & Lutale Challenge Judge Over Treason Trial

Politician Dr. Kizza Besigye, along with Hajji Obeid Lutale and UPDF officer Captain Denis Oola, has been brought before the Nakawa Magistrates’ Court for further proceedings on charges against them.

They are accused of treason.

Dr. Besigye, through his lawyers, has requested Judge Christine Nantege to recuse herself from presiding over his and Hajji Lutale Kamulegeya’s case. He argues that the judge lacks the necessary experience to handle such a significant trial.

Both Besigye and Lutale continue to face treason-related charges.
