According to party officials, Kyagulanyi is expected to hold a press briefing at the headquarters before proceeding to Kawempe North and Kawempe South, where he is scheduled to continue his presidential campaigns.
The heightened security follows a series of recent incidents in which NUP gatherings have been met with police intervention, prompting concerns over the safety of both the candidate and his supporters. Despite this, party members say they remain determined to proceed with their campaign activities.
Traffic around Makerere – Kavule slowed significantly as the crowds continued to grow, with some roads partially blocked by the heavy presence of both security personnel and NUP loyalists.

Kyagulanyi’s visit to Kawempe is expected to draw even larger crowds as he continues to rally voters ahead of the upcoming elections. His campaign has gained momentum in recent weeks, especially in Kampala and surrounding areas.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the increased security deployment at the NUP headquarters.
