SC Villa has confirmed Hajji Omar Ahmed Hussein as its President for another five year term after he ran unopposed in the club’s latest elections. The announcement was made by the head of the electoral committee, Brian Kajubi, who declared Hussein duly elected.
The electoral process had set strict requirements for aspirants, including the payment of a non-refundable fee of 100 million Ugandan shillings. This condition, among others, was meant to ensure that only serious contenders stepped forward. However, no other candidate submitted their interest, leaving Hussein as the sole nominee.
Hussein’s re-election extends his leadership of one of Uganda’s most historic football clubs. SC Villa, a record league champion, has been working to rebuild its competitive edge both on and off the pitch. Under his stewardship, the club has focused on strengthening its structures, improving player development, and reconnecting with its fan base.
With this new mandate, Hussein is expected to continue steering SC Villa through its modernization agenda, aiming to restore the club’s dominance in Ugandan football and enhance its reputation regionally.
