Butaleja – Uganda
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) national vice chairperson, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo, has called on party leaders in Butaleja District to put aside their personal differences and work together to strengthen the Movement’s grassroots structures, emphasizing that the party is “bigger than all of us.”
While addressing NRM leaders on Sunday, Kigongo warned that internal wrangles and support for independent candidates were threatening the party’s cohesion and weakening its foundation at the local level.
“Let us forgive our colleagues and remember that the Movement is bigger than all of us,” Kigongo said. “If the structures collapse, the Movement will collapse too. We are here because of those structures.”
He urged party members to demonstrate discipline, loyalty, and commitment to the NRM’s ideals, noting that unity was essential for sustaining the party’s dominance and delivering on its promises to Ugandans.
Local NRM leaders in attendance welcomed Kigongo’s message, pledging to resolve internal disputes and revitalize the party’s organizational structures ahead of future political activities.
