President Yoweri Museveni has confirmed the arrest of two Kenyan nationals allegedly linked to opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine.
Speaking during a national address at State House Entebbe, Museveni said the pair were detained after intelligence agencies discovered that they were collaborating with Bobi Wine’s team to plan riots ahead of the 2026 general elections.
“We arrested two Kenyans who were working with Bobi Wine’s group. They are experts in riots. With our very good intelligence system, we picked them up and put them in the fridge for some days,” Museveni stated.
The President warned that Uganda would not tolerate foreign interference in its internal political affairs, stressing that security agencies would continue monitoring any activities aimed at destabilizing the country.
Reports from earlier in the month identified the detained individuals as Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, both Kenyan activists who were taken into custody in early October after attending a National Unity Platform (NUP) rally.
The two were later released following diplomatic engagement between Kenya and Uganda.
