Senior members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), led by the party’s Secretary General Richard Todwong and Deputy National Chairman Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, participated in a ceremony to unveil the official portrait that President Museveni will use in the upcoming 2026 elections.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially launched President Yoweri Museveni’s 2026 campaign image, marking the beginning of its electoral journey toward the next general election. The unveiling ceremony, held at the party’s headquarters in Kyadondo, Kampala, was attended by top party officials including Secretary General Richard Todwong and Deputy National Chairman Al Hajji Moses Kigongo.
The portrait, which will serve as the visual emblem of Museveni’s re-election bid, was revealed alongside the party’s new campaign theme: “Protecting Gains as We Make a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.”
Party leaders emphasized the importance of consolidating Uganda’s progress in peace, infrastructure, agriculture, and health, while steering the country toward Vision 2040 goals. Todwong noted that the NRM’s campaign will focus on policy achievements rather than personal rivalries, reaffirming the party’s commitment to issue-based politics.
The event also doubled as a strategic planning session for district leaders, who are preparing for the upcoming 4th National Conference. Mobilization efforts and grassroots coordination were key topics, as the party gears up for a nationwide push.
