Kampala – Uganda.
The Uganda Police Force has released an official statement concerning the ongoing presidential campaign activities, indicating that several individuals believed to be affiliated with the National Unity Platform (NUP) have been arrested over various offenses reported in Lira District.
According to the statement, the suspects are accused of vandalizing a police vehicle, stealing its keys, taking a police tracking device, seizing a police officer’s uniform bag, stealing two jerrycans of fuel, and taking a police laptop.

Police confirmed that ten suspects have been arrested, and one vehicle – a Droon type – has also been impounded as investigations continue.
The police spokesperson for the North Kyoga region said inquiries are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals who might be connected to the incidents.
However, some NUP representatives have expressed concern, suggesting that the arrests could be politically motivated, and have called for a fair and transparent investigation.
