Kampala – Uganda
Leaders and members of the National Unity Platform (NUP), including the party’s parliamentary leader Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi and Secretary David Lewis Rubongoya, gathered at the NUP headquarters in Makerere-Kavule to hold a memorial and prayer ceremony.

The event was organized to honor and remember party members who lost their lives during the violent clashes on November 18th and 19th, 2020, which erupted during the party’s campaign activities. Families of the victims and party members attended the ceremony, sharing prayers and reflections on the lives lost.

Speaking at the memorial, Hon. Ssenyonyi and Rubongoya emphasized the importance of keeping the memories of the fallen alive and renewing calls for justice and accountability for those responsible for the killings.
The gathering also served as a moment for the party to unite and reaffirm its commitment to advancing democracy and human rights in Uganda, while ensuring that the sacrifices of their members are not forgotten.
