The Syrian Ambassador to Uganda, Dr. Tamouh Moustafa, has dismissed reports claiming that Ugandan national Ajok Vikie accused of murdering her employer in Syria is scheduled for public execution.

Dr. Moustafa clarified that no such decision has been made by Syrian authorities. He explained that Ajok has only faced one trial since her arrest, and insisted that the rumors circulating online are baseless. “These claims have no foundation. They are fabrications meant to mislead,” he said.

The ambassador made the remarks from his office in Kampala, where he addressed growing public concern over Ajok’s fate. His statement comes after widespread speculation that a date for execution had already been set, sparking fear among Ugandans.

Dr. Moustafa urged the public and media to verify information before sharing it, warning that false reports can cause unnecessary panic and strain diplomatic relations. He reassured Ugandans that Syria is following due judicial process and that Ajok’s case is being handled within the law.

Ajok Vikie’s situation has drawn significant attention both in Uganda and Syria, highlighting the challenges faced by migrant workers abroad and the importance of clear communication between governments.
