The National Unity Platform spokesperson who doubles as the Leader of Opposition in parliament Joel Ssenyonyi has come out and revealed how he is being suffocated while operating his work as the LOP.
While addressing the mass at NUP party headquarters in Makerere Kavule, Joel Ssenyonyi revealed that there is a move of tricking him into rubbing shoulders with the speaker in what he described as “corruption” as he was addressing the issue of being among the beneficiaries of the one trillion and above allocated to the parliament in the next financial year 2024/25.
“There is a propaganda which is currently being circulated, that the one trillion shillings being allocated to parliament is shared between the office of the speaker and the office of the LOP, the truth is, the staff who were working in the office of The LOP their contracts weren’t renewed in January, they did also cut our budget, ” Joel Ssenyonyi said.
At the same event, different members of the ruling party (NRM) FDC and other political parties, crossed to the National Unity Platform, where the party principal Mr. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu cautioned them that if they’re to front their ambitions like getting the NUP card for the next general elections, they’re on a wrong truck.
