On the 21st of July few minutes to 11pm,His Royal majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II landed at Entebbe International Airport aboard Ethiopian Airways.
The Kabaka’s return was due to the rejection of his request by Namibia to extend his stay for medical treatment.
Namibia claimed that the rejection of the Visa extention for the Kabaka was caused by the bad publicity that they were working hand in hand with the government of Uganda to abduct the Kabaka.
This also comes after Ugandans in Namibia protested at the embassy of Uganda in Namibia, requesting for the release of the Kabaka whom they claimed was abducted by the Namibian government.
The Kabaka of Buganda had initially been granted a 90 day visa to receive treatment for an undisclosed condition, in Okoungari Psychotherapeutic Center since April of this year.
The Kabaka was welcomed by the leader of the Lukiiko of Buganda, Owekitibwa Mugumbule. The Kabaka was also welcomed by the Katikkiro of Buganda,Owekitibwa Charles Peter Mayiga, Her Royal Majesty the Queen of Buganda Maama Sylvia Nagginda, and Prince Cryspin Jjunju.
