On the 1st of August, Kyagulanyi’s driver and security personnel Achileo Kivumbi was abducted by men in uniform from his home Nansana municipality, Wakiso District over unknown reasons.
This sparked fire on social media with countless posts of concerned people demanding for his immediate release.
Men in uniform were later spotted searching his home while he was in custody on the 3rd of August.
Kivumbi’s wife claims that men in uniform had forced their way into the family’s house and forced Kivumbi to sign an agreement,that he had permitted the military men to search his home.
The Uganda People’s Defence Force(UPDF) in the general court martial Holden at Makindye, has today released a statement against Kivumbi stating that; his arrest was due to the unlawful possession of defence stores.
