
The Vatican has announced the death of Pope Francis who has died at 88 this morning. This sad news has been confirmed by Cardinal Kevin Farewell at 7:35am this morning, a day just after the pontiff greets crowds on Easter Sunday in st. Peter’s square.
In recent years, his papacy had several hospital visits and concerns about his health with illness associated with Anaemia. His hospital stay had ended on March 23 this very year.
The process of choosing a new pope-conclave generally takes place between 15-20 days after the death of a pontiff.
