The Speaker of Ugandan Parliament, Hon Anita Annet Among is ready to lead a group of delegates from Uganda to Vatican for the pope’s burial on Saturday this weekend. According to Captain Mike Mukula, the speaker has been directed by the President upon her invitation by the Vatican to attend the funeral mass which will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista.
The speaker has been a friend to Pope Francis, who passed away on April 21 at the age of 88, and her attending his burial underscores the significance of Uganda’s relationship with the Vatican.
