Kingdom FM morning show host Nyanzi Live has come out and tasked his fellow journalist to bring evidence before the public which pins the Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi over embezzling 1.7 billion shillings.

While in their weekly  morning show “Ssepulingi” which he hosts it with Nakataayi, Nyanzi Live said that for the case of Mpuuga it was a different story since there was proof that the “service award” was allocated to the then LOP and the other three commissioners.

“Dean Lubowa should just bring proof that actually this money was given to Joel Ssenyonyi, if he has audios, videos or any proof, he should present it before the public like it was for Mpuuga” Nyanzi Live said.

Background

The allegations broke out on the internet few days back accusing the leader of opposition of corruption, geared by renowned journalist Dean Lubowa Ssava.

Ssenyoyi who was once a leader of the COSASE committee which probed the works of the Civil Aviation Authority [CAA],made a report about Uganda Airlines which he claims the Speaker of Parliament sabotaged its presentation to the Parliamentary floor.

According to the ongoing allegations ,Dean claims Ssenyoyi took a bribe of 1.7 billion Ugandan shillings to hoard the presentation of the CAA report. Responding to the allegations today, Joel Ssenyonyi says that he is being blackmailed by these reports because he fought against corruption.

In his own words on his Facebook page “mbu Ssenyonyi was bribed with 1 billion ,sorry 1.4 billion ,no we’ve made a mistake it was actually 1.7 billion ,and we have evidence to prove that.”

Ssenyoyi further says that the people who came up with the story want it to match the 1.7 billion service award. He goes on that the thieves in Parliament whom they’re exposing have resorted to propaganda to divert the people from the truth. Ssenyoyi says he is still waiting for the said audios where the negotiations of the 1.7 billion were made. He goes on to advise the propagandists to be sure of the sum which they claim he took instead of just guessing that amount. Ssenyoyi says he shall continue to speak out against corruption by the thieves in the Parliament whom the people of Uganda know very well.
