The President of Uganda His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has released un updated list of the appointed senior presidential advisors and others were retained
The following are the appointed presidential advisors, former Minister of State for Housing and former NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Region, Sam Engola was appointed to be Senior Presidential Advisor on Lango Affairs, former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Prof. Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Kisuule, was appointed to be the Senior Presidential Advisor on Middle East.
President Museveni re-appointed most of the presidential advisors through the powers granted onto him in the article 172(1) (a) of the constitution and among these, is the First Son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba who was re-appointed as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, former army commander and Operation Wealth Creation chief coordinator, General Salim Saleh as Senior Presidential Advisor on Defense.
Former Minister without Portfolio, Hajji Abdul Nadduli as the senior presidential advisor on Political/Mobilization, former Vice President Specioza Kazibwe Wandira as the Senior Presidential Advisor on population and health issues under the Ministry of Health, Dr.Ezra Suruma as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Finance and Economic Planning , all on terms of a cabinet minister.
Former State Minister for Security in Obote’s government, Chris Rwakasisi as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties, former Minister for Trade, Amelia Kyambadde as Senior Presidential Advisor on Industry, Prof. Edward Rugumayo as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs , Former CID Director, Elizabeth Kuteesa as Advisor on Police matters ,former Education Minister, Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Education Matters.
The NRM Diaspora League chairperson, Hajji Abbey Walusimbi as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs and Ambassador, former German Ambassador to Uganda Klaus E.P Holderbaum as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Tourism and Investment, -Former Minister of Works and Transport, Monica Azuba Ntenge as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Works
Former Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Mary Karooro Okurut, as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Media, -Former Justice minister, Ephraim Kamuntu as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Constitutional affairs, -The Head of the Office of the NRM National Chairman,Hajjat Hadija Namyalo Uzeiye as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs.
Florence Mutyabule as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Poverty Alleviation (Busoga Region), Maj. (Rtd) Kakooza Mutale as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Secretary Mary Amajo as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Public Service. former Energy Ministry Permanent Secretary Fred Kabagambe Kaliisa as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Oil, Gas and Minerals ,former Principal Private.
In this list, 20 presidential advisors were retained according to the names listed and two were appointed.
