Muhammad Kabanda who has been making rounds on media platforms claiming that his kidney removed by specialists at Old Kampala hospital, police has confirmed that he was actually born with one kidney.
This was said by the police spokesperson Fred Enanga who says that the CT Scan was performed at a private facility and the Police Director of Police Health Services, Dr. Moses Byaruhanga only helped to interpret the scan results to Kabanda and his family members.
“CT Scan report was not a report of police, these are people who went to Kampala imaging center, and that is where the CT Scan was done, they were given the CT scan report which they came with to the Director of police health service and he helped them to interpret that report from Kampala Imaging center” Fred Enanga said.
He went ahead and revealed that the CT scan report confirmed that Mr. Kabanda was born with only one kidney.
“However this is an investigation which is ongoing, and we are also happy to inform you that it is also under investigation by the team of experts from the medical council, they will also come out with their findings.”
The police spokesperson went ahead and disclosed that its normal to be born with one kidney.
Muhammad Kabanda, a resident of Gangu village on the outskirts of Kampala is said to have visited the said health facility on September 24, 2022 following a boda boda accident along Lukuli road.
Hospital records show that he had sustained severe head injuries.
Mr Kabanda says he was asked to pay Shs3.35 million for the head operation and an additional Shs2 million for medication.
